There are several events throughout the year and ongoing programs that require volunteers. We are always looking for people to help out at specific events throughout the year. If you'd be interested in doing so, please contact us!

Room Parents
Room Parent volunteers help their child's teacher throughout the year. Room parents work together to plan and run the 3 classroom parties (Halloween, Holiday, and Valentine's Day parties). A Head Room Parent for each classroom is respondible for collecting PTO-supplied money from the main office prior to the party to aid in funding the party ($1.00 per child per party). Other duties of room parenting include: volunteering at least one hour of time during the school picnic, chaperoning field trips, and assisting with any special class projects as necessary. Publishing Center
The Publishing Center provides Bierbaum teachers a resource for helping with prepartions for classroom projects and activities. Teachers place their requests in the Publishing Center request folder in the main office. Examples of requests include cutting out 40 elf hats, laminating a child's artwork, or sorting pages in a child's school-year scrapbook. Volunteers can come in any time during a school day to go through the folder and see what needs to be done. Volunteers may work whenever and as often as they'd like. Wednesday Folder Preparation
Every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, volunteers collate school news and notes and place the papers in envelopes that go home with our children on Wednesday afternoons. The task takes about 1.5 hours each of the two days. The more volunteers we have, however, the quicker it goes. For more information, contact the Wednesday folder volunteer coordinator.

Library Team The Bierbaum Library Team works to keep our school library a useful and exciting resource for students and teachers. Under the leadership of school librarian, parent volunteers help keep the library organized and running smoothly. Volunteers help sort & shelve books, in addition to checking out books for students. Volunteers may also experience the joy of reading aloud to the younger classes. In addition, joining the Library Team is a great way to meet the teachers, staff and other volunteers at Bierbaum.
